How have you been involved in the Magento ecosystem?

I have been actively involved in the Magento ecosystem for many years almost 12 years specifically, primarily focusing on sales, marketing, business leadership, and overall strategic planning. While I am not a developer, my role encompasses driving growth, managing key operations, and fostering strong relationships within the Magento community.

I have worked closely with merchants, agencies, and developers to promote Magento’s value and help expand its reach. I also handle social media and marketing initiatives to increase awareness and engagement around Magento products and events. My experience in administration and technical understanding enables me to bridge the gap between technical teams and business goals effectively.

Through these contributions, I strive to support the ecosystem’s growth and sustainability by helping merchants and partners succeed with Magento as their eCommerce platform of choice.

In what ways have you contributed to the Magento Association and/or other non-profit communities?

I have actively contributed to the Magento Association by serving as an Election Committee Member for the Board of Directors last year, helping ensure a fair and transparent election process.

I was also a speaker at Meet Magento India 2024, where I shared business insights and strategic growth ideas for merchants and solution providers. Additionally, I’ve been invited to speak at Magento Meetups in Ahmedabad, where I engage with local developers and merchants to promote Magento Open Source.

As a Magento influencer on LinkedIn, I consistently share content that promotes the platform, highlights success stories, and addresses industry challenges helping to shift the “Magento is dead” narrative and inspire trust in the ecosystem.  In addition, I manage active WhatsApp group and communities where I consistently share updates related to Magento open source, magento jobs, magento xperts, Mage-OS, free and open-source Magento 2 extensions, and community news—making sure the grassroots ecosystem stays informed and connected.

Beyond the Magento community, I actively contribute to non-profit initiatives. I am a volunteer at Robin Hood Army, helping distribute surplus food to those in need. I’m also involved in organizing and supporting various religious and community events in Ahmedabad, contributing my time and skills to bring people together and make a positive impact.

What value would you add to the Board to help us advance our mission?

With over 12 years of experience in the eCommerce industry and as Co-Founder of MageComp, I bring a unique blend of business leadership, sales strategy, marketing expertise, and community engagement to the table. I am not a developer but I represent the voice of merchants, marketers, and business decision-makers who rely on Magento to grow their businesses.

I actively work to promote Magento Open Source as a powerful, flexible solution, especially in regions like India where awareness is still growing. My large LinkedIn audience and WhatsApp communities allow me to amplify Magento Association initiatives, share key updates, and mobilize grassroots participation quickly and effectively.

My strengths lie in building bridges between developers, merchants, and the broader community, helping simplify complex topics, and turning them into actionable campaigns that drive adoption and growth. I also bring strong organizational and planning capabilities, having led multi-city events, religious functions, and social service initiatives skills that can directly support Association activities like events, outreach, and fundraising.

If elected, I would focus on expanding Magento’s presence in underrepresented regions, driving consistent messaging around the value of Magento Open Source, and ensuring the Association is seen as approachable, transparent, and inclusive.

What are the top 3 initiatives you want to see the Board accomplish in the next 6 months?

Magento needs stronger visibility. I want to help the Board implement a consistent and engaging content strategy across LinkedIn, YouTube, and X (Twitter), with regular updates on community contributions, events, and Adobe/Mage-OS news. The Association must act as the voice of the ecosystem.

Magento Masters was a fantastic program. I’d love to see a revival or reimagining of this with wider criteria, where marketers, agency founders, content creators, and community educators are also celebrated alongside developers. Recognition breeds motivation.

Develop official regional chapters (e.g., Magento India Chapter, Magento Newyork Chapter) with localized goals and community leads. This will help the Association scale globally without relying solely on Meet Magento events.

What initiatives do you want to see the Magento Association focus on in the coming years?

I’d like to see the Association decentralize and scale its impact by supporting regional chapters, localized events, and WhatsApp/Telegram-style communities led by recognized local leaders. From India to LATAM to MENA, there is massive untapped community potential that can be activated with support from the Association.

Initiatives like:

  • Magento Local Ambassadors Program
  • Magento in Colleges (introduce Magento in IT curriculum)
  • More consistent support for Meet Magento and Magento Meetup organizers

What are the biggest challenges that you think the Association has faced and how would you approach them?

One of the most damaging narratives in recent years has been that "Magento is dead." This perception has led to loss of market share, low merchant confidence, and reduced developer interest. While those of us active in the ecosystem know this isn’t true, the lack of consistent brand storytelling from the Association and Adobe has allowed the misconception to grow.

My approach:
I would help the Association launch a global, community-driven campaign to reclaim Magento’s narrative. This includes:

  1. Highlighting success stories of Magento Open Source merchants.
  2. Regular updates on innovation (Mage-OS, PWA, Headless, AI integration, etc.).
  3. Collaborating with influencers, agencies, and contributors to flood social channels with positive updates and news.

What else would you like to share to either the Election Committee or the membership of the Magento Association as they review your application? What makes you a great candidate to join the Board of Directors?

I have spent over a decade in the Magento ecosystem not as a developer, but as a business leader, consultant, marketer, and community connector. My strength lies in understanding the full picture from merchant needs and agency operations to community growth and ecosystem visibility. I’ve worked hands-on with hundreds of merchants, helping them grow their businesses using Magento. I also lead multiple business functions including sales, marketing, admin, tech planning, and content, which allows me to bring a balanced, execution focused perspective to the Board.

I’ve actively contributed to the ecosystem through speaking at Meet Magento India 2024, engaging local Magento meetups, serving on the Magento Association Election Committee, and building active communities via WhatsApp and LinkedIn. I consistently share Adobe Commerce updates, Mage-OS news, and free Magento resources to help the broader community stay informed.

What makes me a strong candidate is not just my experience, but my passion to act. I want to give back to the community that helped me build my career. I understand the challenges Magento faces, but more importantly, I bring the energy and ideas to move us forward. I am deeply committed to transparency, inclusivity, and pushing Magento's story back into the spotlight.

Whether it’s reviving community trust, growing adoption in new regions, or enhancing open-source contributions, I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and work alongside others to make it happen.
