How have you been involved in the Magento ecosystem?
Over the past 13+ years, I’ve delivered complex B2B/B2C Magento implementations—handling upgrades from Magento 1 to 2, Adobe Commerce Cloud migrations, performance tuning, and multi-region deployments. In the current market, I’ve also consulted with merchants navigating platform shifts, guiding them through replatforming risks and costs. I contribute actively to forums, GitHub, and local meetups to share best practices in navigating Magento’s complexity and total-cost-of-ownership.
In what ways have you contributed to the Magento Association and/or other non-profit communities?
As a Magento Association Individual Partner, I've launched mentorship programs in my organsation —guiding cost-conscious merchants toward open-source Magento. This includes advising nonprofits on hosting alternatives to bypass enterprise license fees. I’ve also led discussions about affordable architecture in local tech events, helping demystify hidden costs for small businesses.
What value would you add to the Board to help us advance our mission?
I can guide the Board with data-driven advocacy. For example, independent studies show Adobe Commerce bears ~42% higher platform costs and ~24% higher operating costs than alternatives like Shopify, which touts up to 36% better Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). I’ll use this intel to push for transparency, tools, and programs that directly address platform cost complexity.
What are the top 3 initiatives you want to see the Board accomplish in the next 6 months?
- Enterprise Cost Transparency Report – Benchmark Magento TCO vs SaaS incumbents: Adobe Commerce licensing can range ₹1.3M–₹4.5M/year; hosting, maintenance, and development total ₹0.67M–₹1.46M over three years.
- Complexity-Mitigation Playbook – A best practices toolkit for performance tuning, platform modularity (including ACCS/SaaS launched June 2025) to reduce reliance on custom dev hours and drive down TCO.
- Growing Consulting Support – Establish partnerships or working groups to help small-to-mid agencies support complex deployments more affordably—reversing the decline in large-scale Magento projects.
What initiatives do you want to see the Magento Association focus on in the coming years?
Longer-term, the Association should prioritize:
- Scaling Open‑Source & Accessibility: Promote Magento Open Source and lower-tier Adobe packages to attract budget-sensitive merchants.
- Workforce & Certification Expansion: Create training grants and subsidized certifications to expand the developer pool and reduce labor scarcity.
- Strategic SaaS Adoption (ACCS): Guide the shift to ACCS, simplifying deployment and reducing overhead to better compete with platforms like Shopify.
What are the biggest challenges that you think the Association has faced and how would you approach them?
Key challenges:
- Perceived cost & complexity
Problem :- High TCO & Perceived Complexity as studies show Adobe Commerce carries 42% higher implementation costs and 24% higher operational costs than Shopify.
My approach :- Launch data-backed transparency dashboards, host side‑by‑side cost calculators, and share case studies that highlight scenarios where Magento still delivers superior ROI - Talent Shortage & Costly Development
Problem : Recent reports, including user testimonies, indicate dev costs ranging from ₹11 L–₹26 L per year for full-time Magento developers and ₹60k–₹200k for migrations.
My approach : Develop regional certification, apprenticeship, and community development initiatives to expand cause‑effectively skilled workforce.
Also some other approches that can also address them:
- Transparency campaigns, demystifying pricing and effort.
- Training grants and certifications, especially in developing regions, to bolster workforce and lower labor costs.
- Advocacy for ACCS, Shopify-like SaaS launched in June 2025, which promises reduced total cost and less operational overhead
What else would you like to share to either the Election Committee or the membership of the Magento Association as they review your application? What makes you a great candidate to join the Board of Directors?
Magento remains a powerful choice for complex eCommerce—there are over 116,000 live Magento sites, including ~1.1% of the top 1 million internet domains .
But many enterprises are switching due to cost and complexity—like Maine Lobster Now, which reduced build costs by 90% and boosted conversion by 69% by moving to Shopify.
My candidacy is rooted in solutions—not just recognition of these challenges, but action: promoting cost transparency, workforce development, and optimized SaaS adoption (ACCS launched June 2025). With these strategies, we can reduce entry barriers, rebuild enterprise confidence, and solidify Magento’s position as a top-tier ecommerce platform.
