How have you been involved in the Magento ecosystem?

For the past 5 years, I have served as the CEO of Amasty, one of the largest extension developers in the Magento ecosystem. In this role, I maintain a deep understanding of the challenges and pain points faced by both developers and merchants. This dual perspective allows me to ensure that our solutions not only meet the technical demands of developers but also address the practical needs of merchants, ultimately driving continuous improvement across the ecosystem.

In what ways have you contributed to the Magento Association and/or other non-profit communities?

Since early 2025, I have been actively volunteering with the Magento Association Marketing Team, contributing to communication efforts and community outreach. This role has allowed me to support the Association’s goals more directly and deepen my engagement with the Magento ecosystem.

Previously, I offered my support by running as a board member candidate in past elections and volunteering to serve on a committee. Although those offers were not accepted at the time, I remained committed to the community. Through the Mage-OS project, I continued contributing as a project manager and content writer for the mage-os.org website, also coordinating design and content efforts within the Amasty team.

Beyond Magento, I’ve volunteered with other non-profits, including serving as a board member for the PMI Chapter and as a mentor with getmentor.dev, offering my experience and guidance to support their missions.

What value would you add to the Board to help us advance our mission?

Through my ongoing dialogue with Amasty clients and partners, I have a strong pulse on the current needs and demands of the global Magento community. My position as CEO, combined with years of experience in the commerce ecosystem, allows me to bring both strategic insight and practical execution to the table. I can not only help shape actionable plans based on community needs but also ensure their effective implementation, leveraging my expertise to foster open collaboration and drive meaningful results for the ecosystem.

What are the top 3 initiatives you want to see the Board accomplish in the next 6 months?

I’ve been encouraged by the Magento Association Board’s progress over the past six months, especially in raising community awareness and improving transparency around Board activities. Building on that momentum, I believe the next step is to focus on initiatives that further activate and empower the broader Magento ecosystem. Here are three I would prioritize:

1. Public Roadmap for the Magento Ecosystem
Expand on the current transparency efforts by launching a public-facing platform where community members can propose, discuss, and vote on initiatives. This would help foster open collaboration and shared ownership. A regularly updated roadmap, shaped by community input, could focus on key pillars like Magento promotion, education, and sustainable community growth.

2. Merchant Education Program
Introduce a focused content series—visual and video—aimed at merchants, highlighting how Magento addresses real-world business challenges. This could serve both educational and marketing purposes, and, if well-received, could evolve into a merchant-focused certification program that recognizes those with a strong understanding of Magento’s strengths.

3. Support for Agencies and Developers
Create a toolkit for agencies and developers that clearly communicates Magento’s unique selling points and competitive advantages. These resources—such as sales enablement decks, use case examples, and objection-handling guides—would help community members better advocate for Magento in client conversations, increasing adoption and confidence in the platform.

What initiatives do you want to see the Magento Association focus on in the coming years?

Magento Platform Promotion
The Association should take an active role in promoting Magento's strengths and capabilities to a broader audience. This includes targeted marketing campaigns, success stories, and partnerships that highlight Magento's versatility and value to merchants, agencies, and developers. By increasing visibility, we can attract new users and solidify Magento’s position as a top commerce solution.

Maintaining Magento’s Competitiveness
It's crucial for the Association to ensure that Magento remains competitive in the evolving eCommerce landscape. This means tight collaboration with Adobe including current Tech voting progress as a starting point.

Supporting and Growing the Magento Community
The Magento Association should continue to support and expand the global community through education, collaboration, and engagement. This includes providing more resources for developers, agencies, and merchants, creating mentorship programs, and fostering open collaboration between all ecosystem stakeholders. Strengthening the community will help drive innovation and sustainability for Magento in the years to come.

What are the biggest challenges that you think the Association has faced and how would you approach them?

In my view, one of the biggest challenges the Magento Association has faced is acting as the mediator between the interests of non-profit community and Adobe. Striking the right balance between these two worlds is not an easy task. The Association plays a crucial role in identifying areas of win-win collaboration, but this work can often go unnoticed and is sometimes subject to criticism from both sides.

One major recent accomplishment has been the increasing transparency and collaboration between Adobe and the Magento Association. The clarification of boundaries and areas of focus—between Adobe’s interests in enterprise-level merchants and the open-source Magento community—was a significant step forward. More recently, the Community-led Prioritization process has further shown how the open-source community can actively shape Magento’s development by voting on selected pull requests. This kind of visible impact helps reinforce the value of community contribution.

Moving forward, I believe it’s important to focus on future goals and practical solutions rather than engaging in “what if” discussions. My approach would be to continue fostering open dialogue and collaboration between stakeholders, ensuring that the Magento Association remains a bridge that facilitates positive outcomes for both the open-source community and Adobe’s commercial ecosystem.

What else would you like to share to either the Election Committee or the membership of the Magento Association as they review your application? What makes you a great candidate to join the Board of Directors?

As the CEO of Amasty, one of the leading extension developers in the Magento ecosystem, I bring a unique combination of technical understanding and strategic leadership. My background as a developer allows me to grasp the context and challenges faced by technical contributors, while my current role as a professional manager is focused on enabling talented professionals to do their best work.

I believe that strong communities are built not just on great ideas, but on effective coordination and prioritization. My strength lies in bridging the gap between vision and execution—helping technical and business stakeholders align, negotiate, and focus on shared goals. I’m passionate about fostering collaboration, and I see the Magento Association as a key platform for empowering the global Magento community.

I’m confident that my experience, combined with a pragmatic and people-first leadership approach, would bring fresh value to the Board’s mission and to the continued growth of the Magento ecosystem.
