I've spent my career knee-deep in the Magento world. Back in 2009, I was the first moderator on the Magento.com forum, probably because I couldn't stop talking about it and they figured giving me a title might shut me up. (Spoiler: It didn't.) In 2012, I had the brilliant idea to combine two things that don't naturally go together: e-commerce conferences and running. Thus, the BigDamRun was born, lasting until 2019 when the pandemic took out conferences. Somewhere along the line, I co-founded Wagento, an Adobe Commerce agency that's doing pretty well in the Americas. I've also been named a Magento Master for five years straight, which is basically like being knighted in the e-commerce world, but with less sword-waving and more coding. I've organized Meet Magento and Magento Titan events across the globe, partly because I love the community and partly because I have an irrational fear of staying in one place for too long. As a podcast host and speaker, I chat about e-commerce development and customer experience, trying my best not to put people to sleep (results may vary). I also through out a few jokes that really put people to sleep. When I'm not living and breathing Magento, I'm an endurance athlete. Turns out, the stamina needed for running marathons is surprisingly similar to what's required for an agency! In essence, I'm just a guy who found his niche in the e-commerce world and decided to run with it—literally and figuratively. If you need me, I'll be either coding, running, or doing both simultaneously (I'm working on it).
