The Magento Association is pleased to announce that Jakub Winkler has officially joined the Magento Association Board of Directors, following his election via the Public Voting Track. Due to the early departure of Board Member Willem Wigman, Jakub’s term begins immediately - ensuring continued momentum in support of the Magento ecosystem.
This appointment represents a seamless transition rooted in community participation and developer representation. Jakub’s election is not only a recognition of his long-standing contributions to Magento Open Source but also a testament to the growing demand for board-level leadership from within the technical community.
Stepping In with Immediate Impact
In light of Willem Wigman’s early departure - to whom we extend our sincere thanks and best wishes - the Board made the decision to onboard Jakub without delay. His experience, energy, and community focus make him uniquely prepared to contribute from day one.
As a result, Jakub will serve the remainder of the 2024–2025 term, bringing forward the vision, accountability, and developer advocacy he outlined during his campaign.
About Jakub Winkler
Jakub Winkler is the Founder and CEO of qoliber, a development agency dedicated exclusively to building Magento 2 extensions for solution partners, agencies, and development teams. Based in Poland, qoliber is known across the ecosystem for producing technically robust, scalable, and maintainable Magento modules - with an emphasis on Hyvä-first, ElasticSuite-aware, and developer-friendly architecture.
Jakub is a seasoned Magento engineer and certified Adobe Commerce Expert - both as a developer and business practitioner. He brings over a decade of hands-on experience with Magento and is widely recognized for his ability to bridge technical complexity with practical implementation.
His recent authoring of Mastering Adobe Commerce Frontend and frequent technical talks at Meet Magento events in New York, Florida, France, and India have further cemented his reputation as a leader among Magento developers.
Jakub’s presentations are valued for their clarity, hands-on depth, and immediately applicable improvements - particularly around performance optimization, architectural decisions, and developer experience (DX).
