The Magento Association Board Elections 2025: Announcing the Public Voting Winner
The Magento Association Board Elections 2025 have once again showcased the strength and commitment of our community. With the public voting track now concluded, we are pleased to officially share the results.
The winner of the public voting track is Jakub Winkler!
Congratulations to Jakub Winkler
A heartfelt congratulations to Jakub on this achievement! His dedication, contributions, and vision for the Magento ecosystem make him a fantastic addition to the Magento Association Board.
While Jakub’s official term was set to begin on January 1, 2026, recent developments have led to an earlier start. Willem Wigman, who has been serving on the Magento Association Board with great passion and impact, is stepping down from his role for family reasons.
To ensure continuity and to benefit earlier from Jakub’s energy and ideas, the Board has appointed him to step in for the remainder of 2025. This means Jakub will immediately join the Board, actively participating in meetings and decisions as of now.
Meet Jakub Winkler
Jakub describes himself as bringing “passion and leadership with a little drop of ADHD-driven chaos”—qualities that reflect his highly active role in the community over the past years. He has consistently contributed and gathered feedback to improve the Magento ecosystem, striving to turn ideas into real, visible actions.
Jakub’s vision for the Board and community includes:
- Reviving hackathons to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Encouraging agencies to join the Association through both financial and code contributions.
- Bringing fun back to contributions by launching experimental initiatives like Magento Lab / Magento Forge, where developers can test ideas without unnecessary barriers.
- Ensuring Magento remains visible at major eCommerce events worldwide.
- Working toward securing Magento’s open-source future and strengthening the Association’s independence.
Jakub also emphasizes the importance of accountability and transparency: “The biggest challenge for the Association is building trust and showing real action. I’m proud to have already started some initiatives and am excited to push them forward as part of the Board.”

Looking Ahead
With Jakub joining the Board early, we look forward to his fresh ideas and strong drive shaping the future of the Magento Association.
At the same time, the Election Committee is continuing the Slate Voting Track process. Interviews with candidates are currently underway. Once these are completed, the committee will deliberate and select the three best candidates from the interview round to be ratified by the Board and MA Membership.
We also want to thank everyone who has participated in this year’s elections so far—whether as a voter, candidate, or member of the Election Committee. Your engagement is what keeps our ecosystem vibrant, transparent, and community-driven.
