2025 Board of Directors Election

The Magento Association is pleased to announce the launch of the 2025 election process to fill four open seats on the Board of Directors. This year, the election will once again follow a dual-track approach:

• Direct Election Track: One board seat will be filled through a direct vote by the members of the Magento Association.
• Slate Election Track: Three additional seats will be filled via a slate process managed by the Election Committee, with final approval by the Board of Directors and ratification by the community.

This structure ensures broad community participation while also enabling the organization to maintain a balanced and effective board composition—addressing important aspects such as skills, geography, and diversity of thought and background.

Application Period: July 7 – July 25, 2025

Applications for both election tracks will be open from Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 25, 2025.

We encourage all eligible members of the community to consider applying if they are motivated to shape the future of the Magento Association and the broader Magento ecosystem. Whether you bring technical, strategic, community, or creative experience—your perspective matters.

As announced during the June 2025 Town Hall, the current plan is for newly elected board members to begin their terms around the end of the year.

The Election Committee

The election process is guided by a dedicated Election Committee, responsible for ensuring that the process is fair, transparent, and aligned with the needs of the Magento community. The committee will:

• Finalize and manage the application and evaluation process for both election tracks
• Review and interview candidates for the slate
• Recommend a slate of candidates for Board approval
• Support the direct election by validating eligibility and ensuring fairness
• Respond to questions and concerns throughout the election cycle

Due to time constraints, he will not be continuing in the role this year. Gaurav brought a deep understanding of the Magento ecosystem and a thoughtful, fair-minded perspective to the process.
