Farewell to Meetup – With Sincere Thanks to Adobe

For many years, Meetup.com has been a cornerstone tool for Magento community organizers around the world. It helped bring people together—locally and globally—to share knowledge, build relationships, and strengthen the Magento ecosystem.

This opportunity was made possible thanks to Adobe, who generously sponsored the Magento Association's Meetup subscription and allowed our community to use the platform freely. We are incredibly grateful for this long-standing support, which empowered countless local gatherings and events over the years.

Over time, however, the landscape of community engagement has changed—both within and beyond the Magento space. Meetup.com is no longer actively used by most organizers, and both Adobe and the Magento Association agree that the funds previously dedicated to the platform can now be more meaningfully invested elsewhere to benefit the community.

Additionally, a global pricing change for Meetup.com set to take effect on June 26, 2025, further supported this decision.

Starting this month, the Meetup Pro subscription sponsored by Adobe will come to an end. Organizers who have been using Meetup will simply be transitioned to the standard plan. Beyond that, no major changes are required for anyone continuing to use the platform independently.

We’re proud of what the Magento community accomplished through Meetup. From small local meetups to thriving chapters and regular contributor events, the platform played a vital role in fostering real-world connections and collaboration.

As we move forward, we remain committed to helping the Magento community find meaningful ways to connect—through other tools, platforms, and programs that reflect how people gather and contribute today.
