Meet Your Board: Viacheslav (Slava) Kravchuk of Atwix

Tell me a bit about your background and what you do now.

I have over 13 years of e-commerce experience and am the CEO and founder of Atwix, a full service agency and Magento Solution Partner. Atwix delivers Magento implementations globally and focuses on long-term development and support of the retailers. The company gives back to the community through its well-known blog, contributions to Magento code, and by organizing and supporting Magento-related events.

Describe your relationship with Magento Adobe.

I am a Magento community member and head of Atwix, a Magento Partner.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Energetic, thinking and adventurous.

What are your greatest professional and personal achievements?

Surviving through an overland trip via 34 African countries and keeping the relationship with my girlfriend while being 24/7 in the same car. Seriously speaking, building an open-minded distributed company out of a small town in Ukraine that I’d work in myself.

What do you hope to achieve personally by being part of the Magento Association Board?

Growing personally by learning from such a bright group of peers and operational experience of SmithBucklin.

What are you most excited about to see Magento Association achieve?

Become a truly independent and influential self-sustainable organization that represents the Magento ecosystem.

Tell us more about yourself.

I love exploring. Traveling is one of the primary ways of doing so for me. I have visited over 85 countries to date and hope to visit them all. I try not to forget that we have a very limited time on this Earth and be mindful of how I use it.

What’s your favorite country you have visited, and why?

That’s a difficult one! I don’t have a No. 1 country in my list, but Namibia is one I definitely want to return to. Vast spaces, deserts, ocean, canyons … sleeping in a tent and enjoying unbelievably tasty lamb or beef braai (BBQ in Afrikaans) along with South African wine under the sky full of stars! Of course, with your close ones.
